A native New Yorker, James Johnson has led memorable events for the most discerning clients.

Most recently, JJ oversaw events for New York City’s largest hotel, the Hilton New York. His attention to detail and keen focus on success were critical for executing events in the hotel’s diverse and expansive function space. The Hilton’s Grand Ballroom has played host to many political and social dignitaries since it’s opening in 1963 by Conrad Hilton.

Prior to joining the Hilton New York, JJ held positions as the prestigious Fontainebleau Miami Beach, the renowned Waldorf=Astoria, and the San Francisco Hilton. He previously spent a culinary summer in Vienna, Austria, serving as a Commis de Cuisine at the Vienna Intercontinental Hotel, where he experienced, first-hand, the inner workings of a leading European kitchen.

 

James is a recipient of numerous awards including the Circle of Excellence; a designation reserved for Hilton’s top team members.

When not orchestrating the finest events, James competes in Triathlons and has completed over 25 races including two full Ironman races raising money for the National SIDS Foundation and the Navy SEAL Foundation.

JJ is married to the love of his life, Ellie, and has three children and five grandchildren.

He is a member of NACE (National Association for Catering and Events), the Food and Beverage Association, and the esteemed Les Amis Escoffier Society of New York.
